Marcus watched as the silhouette of Sarah blended into the night. Satisfied in tonight’s adventure, he made his way toward his coven.

Irina may not be pleased with the news her creature had been destroyed, but in the same breath, she would be pleased he found a way in.

And this way in was named Sarah.

In a quickness that only a vampire could muster, he arrived to his coven. He entered the home and as he was about to call out for Irina, he paused upon hearing a scream. He grinned and lifted a brow.

“Seems someone has started without me.” Marcus quickly made his way toward the basement where the deceased were-creature had been held. Guards stood by the door and upon his arrival, they stepped aside.

Seems I was expected. He opened the door and stepped through, and closing it behind him, he heard the scream again, followed by a voice.

He chuckled. “Oh, Irina,” he began as he turned one of the corners and walked past the cells. Toward the end stood the torture chamber, or so she called it. Wooden doors separated the room from the cellars and on the inside laid tools of various degrees.

“Please,” she whispered, as her body continued to rotate from the hook, her hands bound behind her. A few knives had been shoved in her backside and Marcus stepped away.

“Oh, Irina, your work proceeds you.”

“Marcus, please,” René whispered. “Please…”

“Please what, exactly?” he asked. “Help you escape so you may seek revenge on Irina? No, I do not think so. You did this to yourself, René.”

She closed her eyes and a tear slipped from her and landed on the floor, mixing with the blood she had lost.

A shadow fell across the floor and as Irina entered the room, she smiled to Marcus. “And he returns! What news do you bring?” She approached him and Marcus chuckled.

Irina had blood on her face and neck, her bodice, hands and arms. Her legs and feet were meticulously clean, however. She wore an apron over her outfit and Marcus thought she looked to be a doctor for a moment. “How is it, Irina, you manage to cover your entire body in blood, and miss your legs and feet?”

“What?” She glanced down and when she looked back up, she smiled. “I have no idea. So what news do you bring?”

“You will
